Getting started in Jitsu is as simple as 1, 2, 3
- Find a club
- Contact us via this link or if your prefer jump straight to 3
- Turn up to the session in loose clothing (sports wear etc)
- Get on the mat and off you go
Arriving at a club
We all know that starting or even visiting a new place is daunting, but our team of instructors, as well as others students and parents make the clubs a warm, friendly and welcoming place. Everyone is more than happy to help out and talk to you about the art, just be warned though … some of us don’t know when to stop talking :)
Once you arrive, we will talk you through the first few weeks of taking part, for example;
- When do you need to be insured?
- When is best to buy a Gi and what size?
- How often you should train and where?
- What discounts are available for monthly payments?
Get the most out of it
To get the most out of your training we recommend that you come with someone else, however we do appreciate that perhaps your adventurous spirit is perhaps not shared by everyone, in which case we will make sure you are supported through your first few sessions by a friendly face.
The instructors
All our instructors carry a wealth of knowledge and experience often in excess of 10 years. Some started as children and others joined when adults but either way we ensure that all instructors, both at an adult and junior level, have put the time, effort and dedication into understanding the martial art before being able to pass on that knowledge to others. We even ensure that our assistant instructors are qualified before letting them loose.
Above all our adult instructors are:
- Sports Coach Registered
- Qualified Jitsu Instructors (awarded by the Jitsu Foundation)
- CRB Checked and Registered
- Have an understanding of basic first aid
